Brunton is a commonly used name by geologists to refer to any type of pocket transit compass. The Brunton is a typical geologist's compass, and is well adapted for geological field work. It folds up into a compact form for carrying. Our compass is a Brunton style handheld pocket transit compass. It is equipped with a mirror & levels for holding the compass level & gives a reflected view of the reading. It is made of solid brass(weighs 700gms). It is typically bought as an ornament however, this compass is more than an ornament, and can be used for the practical measurement of angles if it is handled properly
